Mit ihrem kollektiven Erwerb verzichten die Käufer*innen zugunsten der Sehnsucht nach einem wilden, ursprünglichen Ort explizit darauf, Motu Matatahi jemals zu betreten. Die Insel wird von ihren Eigentümer*innen als roher Ort der Phantasie, utopisch motivierten Unzivilisiertheit und unzugänglichen Schönheit anerkannt. Sie kann gedanklich, fernab von Alltagswelten in schillerndsten Farben sprießen und ist zugleich realer Teil einer ungezähmten und entlegenen Welt. Um den kollektiven Inselbesitz zu verwirklichen, suchen wir Unterstützung und Mitstreiter*innen.

Our idea is to purchase a small island in the southern hemisphere collectively, and to leave it in its pure and pristine condition. The island should remain untouched and savage. Only under this condition our imagination of it will stay intimate. To reach this state, we impassively renounce to visit it one day. The island won't be used physically because if we go there, we lose the power of the utopian risk and the vision of sharing an unvisited place. Our unpredictable oasis of feral wilderness can prosper as a steady and silent companion gleaming in our everyday. There are a lot of things in our lives that constantly demand to be organized, practiced and transformed apart of the non-stoppable projections we cultivate on others and ourselves. We all share resistance and variance, our fantasy always remains destabilizing, reaching towards freedom, towards the consciousness of the uncontrollable and the acceptance of wilderness and nature. Motu Matatahi liegt im Pazifischen Ozean bei Polynesien in Rangoria und gehört zum Tuamotu-Archipel. Die Insel hat eine Fläche von 7,3 km² und verfügt über wunderschöne Sandstrände und Palmenwälder. Motu Matatahi ist von einer kristallklaren, türkisen und dunkelblauen Lagune umgeben. Nur dem Wetter, dem Wind und den Wellen ausgesetzt, kann die Insel die Vision eines unberührten Traumes und die Sehnsucht nach einer unkontrollierten Zukunft Raum geben.

After a profound research into the market of islands we found the most beautiful place in the remote pacific: Motu Matatahi. This island is located in French Polynesia in Rangiroa, Tuamotu-Archipelago. It arises as a small spot between Australia and South America: Thousands of miles away from the next continent. The size of the island is approximately 7280 m². Motu Matatahi consists of beautiful sandy beaches and Palm trees and is surrounded by a lagoon with crystalline water, from turquoise colour to deep blue. As a secluded island it grows in natural condition, preserved from human interventions, surrounded by ocean walls and far from anyone´s reach. Small and pure - amongst wind and wave, where only birds dot pink horizons.

Motu Matatahi Association

Um den kollektiven Inselbesitz zu verwirklichen, benötigen wir Unterstützung und weitere Mitstreiter*innen. Deshalb initiieren wir Inselfeste, Crowdfunding-Aktionen und andere Initiativen, um unsere Vision des gemeinschaftlichen Inselkaufs sichtbar zu machen.
Die Motu Matatahi Association wurde 2016 in Wien gegründet. Der Zweck der Association ist der Austausch von Terminen und Neuigkeiten im Hinblick auf die Insel, sowie der gemeinsame Erwerb und Besitz von Motu Matatahi.

To realize the collective purchase, we need support and fellow comrades. That´s why we are hosting diverse initiatives, like Island Conferences, Autosuggestive Risk Celebrations, Crowdfunding Campaigns and most important: the founding of the Motu Matatahi Association in 2016 in Vienna. Its purpose is to gather potential buyers and to exchange events and news regarding the Island and its impending ownership.

• Damit wird jedes Mitglied der Motu Matatahi Association zu einem/r Co-Besitzer*in der Insel. Then every member of the Motu Matatahi Association will become a Co-Owner of the Island.
• Jedes Mitglied erhält eine offizielle Besitzurkunde von Motu Matatahi, auf der der gespendete Betrag, wenn gewünscht, vermerkt werden kann. Every member gets an official ownership certification of Motu Matatahi, on which the contributed amount can be mentioned, if wished.
• Alle Mitglieder sind befugt, sich Besitzer*innen von Motu Matatahi zu nennen. All members are allowed to call themselves owner of Motu Matatahi.
• Alle Vereinsmitglieder stehen dafür ein, dass die Insel unberührt und unbesucht bleibt. All Members agree to let the Island untouched and unvisited.

Weiters stimmen alle Mitglieder der Motu Matatahi Association folgenden Inselbedingungen zu. Furthermore every member of the Motu Matatahi Association agrees to the following conditions for the Island:

•   keine Besuche / no visits

•   keine Infrastruktur / no infrastructure

•   keine Einrichtungen / no care facilities

•   keine Gebäude / no buildings

•   keine Sicherheit / no security

•   kein Naturschutz / no nature protection

Teil sein von der Association Motu Matatahi, um gemeinsam die Insel sein zu lassen. Bei einer unverbindlichen Einschreibung, wirst du über Inselfeste, erneute Crowdfunding Versuche sowie alle Neuigkeiten, die mit Motu Matatahi verbunden sind, informiert. Mit dem Erwerb von Motu Matatahi, geht die Akzeptanz von Freiheit, allem Unkontrollierbaren und Wildnis einher. Der kollektive Ankauf ermöglicht, dass das Projekt nicht nur auf der Ebene des Tagtraums verbleibt, sondern die Insel als realer Ort der Imagination in unser alltägliches Leben einfließt.

The acceptance of freedom, wilderness and uncontrollable circumstances are going along with the purchase of Motu Matatahi. But the vision will not remain just as a daydream.
